The manor


history

Malouinière* of the Barony was built at the end of the 17th century by Eon, shipowners' powerful family. It was afterward sold to Pierre-Jacques Meslé de Grandclos, one of the richest traders and the shipowner of his time, which made a fortune thanks to the triangular trade with Africa and the Antilles. The property was seized in the revolution of 1789 and  afterward diverse fortunes before escaping from few in the appetite of the developers. Today, Benoît and Sophie Laude, the owners, going down from the famous corsair Robert Surcouf, enthusiasts of heritage, undertook to restore the Manor house tastefully and concern of authenticity.

* Malouinières:

The naming " Malouinière " indicates houses of shipowners and rich  traders built in the nearby immediate countryside of saint Malo  in 17th and 18th century.
